Review - ZILVANLONGBOARDS - WETDECK - Proto…
Sodden’s Not a Problem…
ZLBWDP - Quite an acquired taste…
really got to know what your about before bombing hills, or tanking through the streets…
Due to it's ‘Raked’ effect running gear. This deck feels ‘on the edge’ of topping out -
regardless of your 'real-time' speed… If you were to drop a kurb with vigour, without attention…
its likely to topple you….
It is recommended a precise, concise decision making mind is present throughout the ride… beware to continuously factor-in Gradient.. Surface and Speed… Only because one wrong ‘shimmy‘.. And its drapes…drapes…
The deck check’s in at around 4inches deep on the nose.. With mere 1.4 inches deep on the tail..
The trucks are ‘Sunk’ at the rear… giving a lower ride height for the rear half… works really well once ‘Mastered’… handy in the wet as your nose is ‘Higher’ than the Tail.
The ZLBWDP in Fig 1- 3 does not carry the below mentioned ‘WETGRIP’.. this board is pure proto.. The ‘Carpet’ like grip shown was for the review… it is novel idea.. Works well..
Running:
- ‘WetDeck Proto’… There are many..
- With Indy 215..
- OJ III’s..
- Abec 5’s … Well lubricated…
Specials…
- Full Inserts (Refills) Grip… (Black/Blue)
- Marine Treated Deck… (Stringer)
WETGRIP- Interchangeable
ZilvanLongboards do a line of interchangeable grips for your ‘wetride‘..
This is accomplished with Deck modification, and varied selection of colourful refills…
From the start a few layers of ply are left with cut-outs were the grip is preferred.. then on one edge a similar gap, wide enough to take the ‘refills’ securely them once ‘Installed’…
Once in situ these refills will last relative to your ride… if your fair with them… only kick on dry spots… or carve out the puddles… you should be getting hours out of them… Or, if you ride the racing line and it takes you clean through a puddle better known as a paddling pool… then…
Well… the above description/opinion is purely weather dependent… if it rains.. You’ll sure be glad of a
WETDECK, by ZILVANLONGBOARDS…
Remember kids… don’t for get your refills….
