ZLBHovverKraffft - Raked...

ZLBHkR... ... .. .. .

Something of an odd-ball looker… The original Hovverboard in session…
With this instance were looking into Pure carving set-ups, with triangle theory… coupled with another ‘Raked Ride’ example…

This ride sees a single footlong on nose.. A single Randal (ChineseCopy) on rear… Once this fact has ‘sunk inn’ your pace quickens with stride as the mind recalls the fact that the ’Pacing’ foot will not come into contact with the rear….

Roughly put, Very odd looker, one nice ride… All about the carve in this case… were testing out that age old triangle theory…

‘And Pure carving excellence’

Designed in principle in the early part of a previous season.. The rarely used ’triangle theory’ proved it’s self once more with this one… ‘If you need direction, use rear as reflection’.. a long winded ‘Formulae’.. But as it reads… with the ZLBHk your stance is primarily over the ’Lead’ truck, with stability taken with ’Lead’ leg… if the rider wished to ‘carve-out’ at pace, or change direction ‘sharply’, then an immediate shift in centre of gravity, followed by a ‘shuffle’ in feet, thus enabling the rider to shift weight on to the rear foot, shift weight onto rear leg, Then with subsequent change in centre of gravity, the rider will be primed to change direction with the rear truck, with very little effort, as all the before mentioned variable have been catered for… The ‘Wide Rear / Wider Nose’ set-up, lends it’s self to a ‘CenterBoard’ centre of gravity… with directional change able with various placing of the feet…

Triangle theory in short is You make two triangles (Theoretical).. Between each foot and each truck respectively..
The three points are these.. One and Two are either wheel on relative Truck… Three.. Foot (Either respectively).. Each leg is independent of each other in this instance … once placed relative to the wheels on each truck respectfully… a Theoretical triangle is made… The rider then selects the amount of weight Layed, or pressure posed through each point of either triangle at any one time.. Thus giving the rider greater poise, options once set… Thus giving the rides’ running gear a triangular geometric, and Triangle Theory applies… (Arguable conceptual in it’s inference and instance)

Another variable in this waffle of an equation is the ‘Raked-ride’ height… Were looking at a high rear.. Low nose.. ‘Sounds a little dangerous‘, were the remarks in discussion.. But having thrown a little trial and error into the mix.. It works… That said, with persistence most things do..
Although the ‘Footlong’ - a twelve inch wide truck has very little ‘angle’.. and the Randal ‘CC’ has a fair amount (50 degree).. The riser set’s on each leaves a slightly rear ‘positive’ ride height… raked toward the nose alittle…

Run a ride such as this for long enough will result in un-even ware (Tarnish) on the ‘rear’ wheels, bearings.. As is the case with ZLB… Trial and error prevails.. A little sceptical on launch as we haven’t seen old HovverKraffft in action lately…

Great first cruise.. Paced away from start quite like ’we’ had been ’in the saddle’ all afternoon.. Found the carve exceptional (As figured).. With the raked ride height showing it’s features.. Pacing rolled easy… and the miles just cruised on by…

: Noticeable points:

An increase in ‘Carve’..
- Not much in the way of Hinderence in stride..
- It’s believed that in time a Slalom worthy style could prevail… as it stands from this run not the case…
- Many an argument in its favour…
- Another Mid-Light set..
- Well balanced in-hand…
- Tanking with poise…
- - Rear wheeled degradation is of concern - - Relative..
- Believed as concept, Triangle theory in test..
(Real world study leaves an increase with carving, no adverse effects with stride relative to stance..
- The raked ride height appears not to hinder stride nor pace…with agreeable stance weighted towards the rear-foot for pace…
- Lead with the nose… Front foot/leg almost continuously weight bearing if inclined for cruise…
- Wheel choice is paramount in this instance
- Quite unique in ride style…
- Incredible responsive…
- Digg that ‘raked ride’
