We asked them for a 'Proto' of thier free hand 'branding', an amalgimation off two of their in house artisan services.. pretty kool, bespoke stuff..
The FreeHand service is local Artists who have turned their hand to bespoke pyrography pieces...
The Branding service is fairly self-explanitary.. same deal as FreeHand, just not so 'Free'..
The 'Green' one is another service offered by DRS, Complete and 'Finnished' plain decks with the coulor of your choice.. coulor can roll around the 'edge' or not..
We picked up a 'laqure' finnished in green.. but they have all sorts going on...

ZLBMarkWIA... ... ... ... ...
ZLBMarkWIA…
Hats off to the gentry from ZilvanLongboards on this one.. Really gotta ride it to believe…
A Genuine pleasure.. Super smooth, never faultered…
Put it through a few ‘Heritage’ runs (As we like to call them)… Routes and runs we have travelled for many moons.. Thus enabling a ‘pure’ focus on the boards beneath your feet… Quite surreal truth be known.. Indicative of a ‘trance’ like state of mind.. Slightly more responsive though… Probably crucially therapeutic…
Having done so.. more than one point raised in earlier pieces became apparent and ‘just’… Particularly the ’Solid’ ride.. And ‘ease of stride’.. and velocity gained from minimal effort, coupled with a ‘ board ‘n’ body ‘ cohesion.. Very pleasant.. Have to say.. Would gladly take on a ZLBMarkWIA to the quiver..
Standard setup would include the Plankail (PK)… Finely matched and adequate.. The Independents (Although ‘kept’ as a rolling ‘Mark‘) are beyond satisfactory…
Again suited to the ride, a ’Non Hinderence’.. Light enough and just wide enough to complement then instil an element of safety to said ride.. This primarily from the wheel base in relation to wheel and truck width.. Far larger ‘Surface area’ covered, thus greater stability…
Ride height rolls in under three inches stationary. With relative to the specific rider a probable flex of one to two inches once underway.. Pace with caution on rough ground as to much in the way of vigour in your stride will leave you ‘Bottomed-out’.. thus Stationary little unexpectedly… This inch or so in flex can be ‘mastered’ to give a full stride at the ‘low’ point of flex.. Add pace.. These elements in ‘series’ leave you rolling at quite a pace.. With ample stability to boot.. Your away…
The ride height for us were well matched to the terrain travelled thus far, Straight urban settings.. Hills a quarter mile in length, fairly steep in decline.. Also cruising around the amenities complex quite suited and above all a comfort like no other to be had both ’rolling’, stationary’ and ‘at pace‘…
Regarding hardware, setup ideas…
Risers on the rear, just to ease the strain, although this may ‘throw’ the ride height out to much, along with this apparent comfort in ride…
With the plankail setting ‘rear’ height, one single riser on the front ..
If we did factor in a riser or two around the rear then the ‘nose’ set could be as much as three wedge high.. Which is quite enough for us…
The Plankail seems enough to deal with the average in urban setting.. Yet to hit the park, with a discussion around ‘Bowls’ heading towards the.. ‘Doable’.. ‘Weary of the flex’… resulting agreement being we’ll give it a go..
Neither side an issue to stride.. As striding with both legs, especially at pace can be a little un-nerving on fresh protos’s, and weird ideas.. With the ZLBMarkWIA again the solid ride comes through giving platform for even, and persisted striding, both at ‘pace‘… and in ’Mosey’ (Slow Cruising, significantly faster than walking) .. A pace such as.. ‘left‘.. Hold out then ‘right’ and so on sees you moving adequately, stability un-compromised regardless of ’over balance’ either way..
All positives towards the ’Distance Pusher’ concept..
A nod to the Alligators.. 70mm of ’good’, ’clean’, stable rolling.. Seems barely a road noise to report.. Nor surface to ’Corse’.. We have found ample room ’on deck’.. Twin grip patches (best part of a third of the board) and tail to boot… Rocking between the trucks as is the nature of the design keeping the centre ’true’, a swift response is on the cards for both ‘sprint’ and ‘kurb trouble’… enabling the riders pace to increase evenly and without scupper…
As is the way with these guys.. Thoroughly enjoyed.. Never endured…

Same deal.. Along with a ZLB - Travelinner Sach, and ZLB - Koeriddor… MiniHovverKrafft also available and recommended... (ZLBTLS/ZLBKK/ZLBKoPictured ).. Another great match.. Able to roll around un-hindered on the ZLBMark(WithIndys-Aligators) with the Koeriddor Stowed (ZLBTLS)..
Pacing, Cruising and playing ‘Street’ is well within the Sensible riders ability..
The ZLBMarkWIA
Tiz The ‘Original’ ZLBMark.. With the ‘Bench’ Indy’s and Rarely spotted Alligators (Bennet-70mm ish) A Genuine ‘Distance Pusher’.. once more within a few miles the stride were even, and pace no issue..
A smooth, solid ride.. Able to descend at pace, nearer ’terminal velocity’.. Proves it’s self to be the TankingKlass on Every surface.. Not ridge/bump/stone ect to rival the stability..
With the Indy’s ‘rooted’ (Tight).. A real pleasure to cruise.. Also rises to the pace you set, then persist at said speed with ease.. Minor attention needed once ‘In Stride’.. Very capable at speed.. The plankail a help than hindrance.. Certainly adds ‘range’ to what can be achieved…
Although no real distance were put down.. Under 7 miles.. We figure the ZLBMarkWIA could achieve what ever the weather.. Uphill also being on the cards.
Seems content once rolling.. Street and ‘Concrete’ jungle capable.. With that all important vigour evening-out the pace…
Plank tail seemed a safe choice, easy cruising.. Turned out to be crucial to ‘control’ … enabling the rider to enjoy.. between paces..
But again once up and rolling.. Pace came with ‘grace’ when stride ‘Enabled’ a element of comfort..
Cruised a full 0.4 of a mile hill, relatively fresh tar macadam (Sodden-ish)..
Total control.. Able to ‘throw weight’ behind the desired direction, With over two thirds of said hill at angle (unsure on decline percentage).. With a third split fairly.. Both ‘Clean’ - Level at either end.. Never reached ‘terminal velocity’.. to engrossed with ‘Control’ and ‘Poise’.. rather important variables in the early summer sun.. the ‘evenings’ rain another variable for concern…
Evenly weighted (Even with the plankail)… Edges, Tail and Nose… Centre of Gravity seemed to ‘rock’ between mid-deck and over the rear truck..

Koeriddor and Kliftraft…
Pictured.. Just happened..
Cruised fairly well (Earlier Shots Setup).. Later (Clip around/ontop) not so much.. Would roll with persistence..
Light enough to enjoy than endure.. Preferable flat/wide open spaces.. ‘RoadRunner’ preferable..
Seems to fair well with an even pace, once rolling an easy stride sees you well..
Weary of the ‘Short Leash’.. and pit-falls that occur with that…
Thoroughly Enjoyed.. With little time spent…The Kliftraft has a dual purpose or two.. Being a ZLBTLS, dubiously ‘Attached’ to the ZLB Koeriddor..

ZILVANLONGBOARDS-Klampp
With Some rides your stride is put-out by trucks and wheels.. With the Klampp ‘having been brave enough just to ride it out’ your stride and subsequent speed quicken pace..
Persisting with this notion leads to competent pushing…
Also although alittle sketch you can stride… and did so for a short while… ‘Borrowed’… not brought…

ZILVANLONGBOARDS - LOWNLONG
A ride height that comes in below 2’… deck width circa 11’ plus… just consider that in your mind… Length, Shape/Strength- ( Minimal Flex) enable this ride to run low an long… found very little issue with ‘steering’.. able to mosey round the obvious and no trouble on little kurbs… with the exception of 3’ Plus..
Once again guest of the ZilvanLongboards march across this summer the other night…
Have not had the chance to ride a drop-through this year yet… don’t need it anymore… found mine in the
ZilvanLongboards Trailer Traveller…. (Lownlong)
Originally a ‘High-sitting Mountain Boarder’ most of the last three years… ZLBZ had taken the deck… ripped the ‘Interchangeable’ Running gear off.. And given the Team riders one Deign House operative to record there findings…
This were a productive idea… free rain on ride height.. Hardware.. And wheel base…
We decided Low and Long were the title on the agenda that night… Cruising both hill and flat..
Along with a play in the park being achievable.. with some day-day town stuff…
This one piece board has enough concave, control with a mere 4 ply wood/melamine construction.. I genuinely had a blast busting around nothing more than 2’ off the ground… The conversation came around to rehashing the Lownlong with other materials… there unsure… What do you guys think…
Untold control at speed.. Have not found a hill as yet, she cant take in her stride…
ZILVANLONGBOARDS - TeamRider
This hill we found were around a mile in length… Fresh (Within the last 3 years) Tar-macadam… paint and the foe of the discerning downhill.. Cats’ eyes… A short wooded trek up, you were met at the top with clear skies, many a star and smooth, smooth tarmac… Two and half ‘Lanes’ wide… a sensible A road..
With fields either side circa 2.30ish…
Having given due time for traffic… we ragged it… The earlier stint in the park bottomed out the deck.. Leaving an increase in concave on one end… thus increasing the ’Touching Surface’ of the stringers…
With one end (Unsurewhich) left like a ‘Dead Legg’…. with you constantly re-balancing to counter act this wayward beast… We rolled over the edge.. And INN…..
Approximate speed 43-50Mph… luge position with the earlier complications just had to go down… an un-nerving scrappy start swiftly lead to you gunning down.. Silent, with absolutely NO Speed wobble.. Even the aged among us will prick there ears up at that… I mean nothing… no bobbles through rutts… and carving out is deemed the civilised way to travel… The lownlong held out all the way… gave you all you asked for in response, comfort and control… couldn’t fault it…
Clean hill.. Controlled final stages… and beyond 45Mph… a nod to the boys on luge/butt boards I see your game… Low and long, dubious ground clearance.. Real life entertainment….
Pronounced - Lownlong… (Lone -Long)
A real odd-ball looker.. With hidden finesse and ease of use (Stride, light in the hand)… there’s V2... and a
V3 is still in the design house… but with all that weight behind the concept.. Well.. Here comes the fun…
‘To any Tom Dick or Harry.. The deck is just a flat, curved, ‘Board’.. which is the case… but set either of those boys down a hill and well It’s gunna be one hell of and afternoon for totoe..’
ZILVANLONGBOARDS - TeamRider.
Accommodating in style… Racer.. Through to luge… again another versatile deck from these guys…
I found placing feet nearer the trucks, (Edges) gave the rider an almost floating sensation where previously a ‘Bogged down’ stance weighted in the centre of the deck really hindered your stride… moving the feet, lowering the Centre of Gravity increased speed, also a betterment in balance became apparent..
Along with everything else this one’s double drilled for pleasure … and what a difference if you switch.
Free-standing another innovative touch from the design house…
In spite of the make do and mend mentality here at ZilvanLongboards… another ’One hell of a proto guys’ was the call of the night as we bid farewell to the evening.. Another nod to the thing.. to it’s self this time.. Suffice as to say we went for it….
This quietly thrilling.. Bizarre looking deck is well worth a spot in you quiver… The gents over at ZilvanLongboards have all the scope for reproduction to custom spec.. along with putting this standard
model in to’ Production ‘ as off the end of the week…
Pure traveller… Distance is not beyond the deck… he he...
Here's an initial shot or two of the 'Travelling Edition'... Zilvan Longboards can Provide a melay of attachments, and add-onns to accomodate the craziest of ideas...

Review: ZilvanLongboards - Mark.
All Round companion..
Interchangeable Nose/Tail ( Also - None)
4’ - 5’ ride height on OJ III’s/Fake Randal’s (180)
‘A Real Kilometre Eater’
Super smooth on all surfaces… Barely feel a transition in surface…
Tactile, poised - free flowing response,
Open to ‘Park Abuse’ and ‘Distance Travelling’
Genuine - All Round Companion
Well… I Have had the pleasure of riding a 2011/12 Prototype deck for ZilvanLongboards.
Fresh out of the Design House around February.. Been withit ever since…
We’ve seen all the elements.. Night and day… and well.. It’s sailed through it all.
Wood/Composite deck consisting of 4ply wood, 2ply Comp sandwich Construction.
Super light.
Very ‘Handy’.
Poised, Responsive Handling.
Easy on The Body - ‘Flex‘, with refined ‘reflex’ and ‘pop’.
Custom Tail setup..
Has changed through-out the year… The ‘Nose’ (as you see it above) can be flipped to give a ‘dipped’ Option. Pictured in ‘Scoop’ mode, this dual piece tail adds alittle strength and rigidity to the deck. With-out this ‘clamp effect’, the ‘Front Third’ (Not Middle/Back) can take a Kurb, or Step up with ease. Dropping over 7’ to 9’ inches without ‘Clamp effect’ Nose can be a little hair raising… only for the board to ‘Bottom out’.. then roll away…
In ‘Dipped’ gives a chilled ride, more ‘relaxed’ stance. With your back foot tending to swivel on the ’Edge’, Continuously versatile in any situation.. Also with time, control, poise, comfort.
The ‘Tail’ (As Above) is bulky looking.. Almost ‘To extreme’ when you first walk up to it… but with in 30 miles it’s friend not foe to your style… enabling control beyond the ‘standard’ pop, shimmy.. A useful tool in ‘The Park’ and ‘Town Cursing’. This ‘Flipper’ tail goes beyond a dual purpose… Along with being a menace in the park (Pre-drilled) and rotated 90 degrees, the perfect luge ‘Head/Foot’ rest rolls with you.. Slightly wide stance/kick to accommodate.. All good fun with a lot of scope for customisation.. As we were under test, we ran it plain -(No Shape), Gripped.
I Very recently cruised The B2B Run (Bath - Bristol) on non other than a stonking summers day… Spot -on moisture content…ect… anywho.. Really kicked it into the first few Kilometres… very pleasant.. The cruised the middle stretch… had a pack on, plus another deck (5 - 8 Kilograms extra weight)… Rolled into Bristol, with-out a sweat, run-time circa 1 - 2hrs…
Gotta say for ‘First time Exploration’ Board… the ZilvanLongboards -Mark had ample range.. I never felt under prepared…
I’ve had this set-up on lengthy promanards along the south coast, Between Poole and Eastbourne over several days… it’s seems as much at home in the forest than by the sea.. Easy on the hips,
Also an urban menace
Low Ride rrrr…
With a Mid-Drop style of ride height (Resting)… it takes from the obvious advantages of ‘Drop Through’, with added flexibility, controllable rigidity. Then tames the ‘extremes’ of a fibreflex, harnessing the reflex (Fibreflex ‘Bounce’), coupled with a super light construction.
The deck flexes to ease you into your stride on lift-off, then stiffens to a placid ‘roll-along’. Positive for your hips, nd knees… Don the ’ Kilometre Eater’ shirt and give it your best…
The Board runs Bi-Directional, with either playing it’s strengths… coming together very sweetly for an all encompassing Distance set-up to rival the ‘Purpose built’. I’ve run over 300 miles in the last three months alone, (With Varying tail combo‘s).. all under test.. Upwards of 15 mils a day sometimes… shorter distance through-out the week.. And to be fair… it’s a proto… But what a proto…
- Contactable through -

HovverKrafft - ZilvanLongboards - Tanking Division
With A NOTE TO A FELLOW Kreator..
Hovverkfraffft… ZILVANLONGBOARDS…
This a remodel of the original Summer sleuth, Tanking Heavyweight… FORESTPLORE… - ZILVANLONGBOARDS…
A Real pleasure to roll… everywhere you find.. It’s just sweeter on this ride… The crown of the tanking fleet… Gliding more than cruising… or rolling… pure Hoverboard…
The eye get’s used to not seeing the wheels.. An the middle ear takes over.. controlling direction… and swing whilst sweeping around corners…
Sweeping corners are just the norm … no worries on stones, drops… or kurbs of any fasion…
Those ’Tails’ you see each end… they have limited use… not all that strong in the Ply towards the edge… Still able to drop on and roll away… might give the park a miss ..
Just enjoys ‘Hanging-out’ through the bends what ever the speed… Be brave on those transitions..
From Kurb-Road for example… position the feet well in advance.. Don’t lean until right over the precipice.. Then back really quick.. Almost a ‘Shuffle’… and land…
In the vein of cruising around in comfort… style and grace… the Hovvrkrafft is with-out doubt the better of the current ‘Tanking Division’.. With a around a 1.4 inch ride height.. It’s just enough to see you home through the urban, street setting - sensibly.. Coupled with silent hardware aswell.. just pure unteathered.. Living..
With a mêlée of attachment to boot… as is the Zilvan way.. Ultimate versatility once more from the guys has left me after one of these just for Sunday-Sessions.. Or chilled evenings.. Just when the sun is low.. Heat is high… very accomplished ride…
Nota ’Superlight’ division.. But for what you get… it’s light…
The Indy’s are a pals.. Well seasoned.. But there perfect for this idea.. Really brings out some character.. Gives you idea of ’Hovering’ Around.. especially at night where the ’ Set-in’ Hardware disapears in the shadows..
I found that ’Small’ Longboard/ Park/Bowl wheels are just fine…
The Gents at ZilvanLongboards are gunna rehash the deck alittle and replace the OJIII’s with those Alligators… Seems like there using the two wheels are ’Marks’ to bench against… Either way.. Bigger wheel will mean heavier all-round setup… and decreased turning circle… will report back on those
There hardware comes in pretty light about 25gs-40gs relative.. There are two options.. One ‘lightweight’ for those summer days, either in the distance saddle or.. Day trippin.. Then the heavy duty gear for foreign trips and ‘hard’ Tanking.. Across the forest or point-point (Motorways / A Roads ect).. Eitherway.. They’ve got it covered….
Tiz a little large to run with the ZilvanLongboards-Travelling division Apparell.. Only as I had their ’Original’ Bag.. The ’Canvas Carrier’.. with me…
A Great bag… just not evenly matched… having discussed the ’Ratio’… we (ZLB and Me) agreed..
I had an un spec’ed setup in their HovverKrafft, and the before mentioned Canvas Carrier… They have three or four sized bags available… these ‘Packs’ Can be customizeed through their design house to your spec… Reckonmended Bagg to accompany the HovverKrafft - Traveliner Series…
Trailer Edition…
This ride doubles as a Trailer… for the discerning distance rider who could use the space.. Via a custom hitch tail (available with all trailer editions).. This pleasant cruiser become carrier for upto 10kgs.. After that.. Trying to pace out.. Or pull up a combines 12-14 kgs… is a slight challenge… although the board is ‘rated’ to take more… both the ZilvanLongboards possie and I agree… enough is enough… detachable of course.. With variations on a theme with bags, pads and so on to give you the best possible set-up for your journey.. After all if your gunna start challenging Adam Colton.. Or Sign up for the IDSA, and become a representative.. Then you gunna need a ride suited to your style..
